A year ago we released Trap & Reward… at the same time that my little niece was born… HAPPY BIRTHDAY my beauty. A smile with legs who spends every second discovering the world alongside her big brother, who is as mischievous as he is endearing.

To celebrate these anniversaries, we wanted you to rediscover the song in an alternative, acoustic, slightly jazzy version.

We have always thought of this song as a speeding car racing down a German autobahn. When I proposed this version to my co-pilots, their perplexity was palpable… However, I hummed it from its origins, bouncy and playful, projecting myself to sing it “for real” one day. Structure, variations and arrangements. It was building itself mischievously in my head in secret.

When the idea behind the "Hey! Secret Show sessions" took shape, and the choice of songs was made, it was time for me to sell it to my co-pilots. Despite the doubts and the first vetoes related to the lack of visualization of the finished product, Billy and Pauline drew on their musical complicity to write these 2 guitars giving the song a slight Jessica Rabbit tinge.

This version and its music video were captured last November 27 in our music studio during the first, hopefully long line, of "Hey! Secret Show sessions". Between a festive snack event and a short acoustic concert, we recorded sessions in small groups. We played 3 songs in "repeat" mode, so that everyone could arrive when they wanted and attend at least one small session. Among the 3 songs selected: the cover of "Don’t let me down" released last January and… this version of "Trap and Reward".

Information for Parisians and around : the original version will be included in the set list of our concert tonight… at the Olympic Café (20 Rue Léon, 75018 Paris) shoegaze evening which promises to be as underground as you'd wish, with Subzero Fun headlining and our lifelong friends Fleur du mal.

A big thank you to them for their invitation, and an eternal thank you to the one and only, the man/the legend: Maxime Lauret, for his work on this video (and all the others).
